It's much more appealing to hunker down in the A/C

We all love to give back to our community and on Saturday we had the opportunity to pay it forward!

"Leslie and the Pinks" is the label used by Dr. Baron to describe the 6 women who put together the fundraising event for the Charleston Breast Center.

Laura Oliveri, Elizabeth Quinton, Kelly Campbell, & Pamela Lesch joined Leslie and myself for this beauty extravaganza!

Our schedule was filled and everything ran smoothly.

There was lots of love and laughter had by all.

The event was a huge success with a total of $2,100 raised.

Not to bad for a few cosmo-trons getting to play in each others makeup kits.

Everyone went home with there heart full knowing the money we helped raise will help women get mammograms who would otherwise be unable to afford them.

We all hope to do this again next year......who knows maybe we can double our numbers.

Sounds like a challenge to me.

So sleek looking, of course I picked up the bottle on looks alone! I have been a fan of this amazing hair stylist to the stars since my earlier days in Miami...I was super stoked to see that not only he had an amazing line of products, but that they landed right here in Charleston!

So far all of the products I have tried are the definition of luxury, however this anti-humidity spray ROCKS! It really works and smells divine. Since we are getting questions about bronzers and self tanners, I had to include the latest favorite of mine on the self tanning end. Needless to say, I have tried every self tanning product out there and might have actually just come across one that not only works really well, but doesn't SMELL (I'm not kidding)! Ringin' In the New Season

Okay, so the little hiatus we thought we had has come and gone...LONG GONE! We have been busy gearing up for spring season, but Lord did the flood gates open this past weekend!

Busy = burnin' (meaning burning through product). We are constantly looking for the latest and greatest, not only for ourselves, but for others, and our kits. On top of that, we are getting tons of emails on how to stay looking good, while saving a buck. This is perfect...I came across this new Maybelline product this weekend (when one of my fav concealers busted) and in a pinch it worked like a charm! I was pleasantly surprised by the results it gave. On one end is a more dense opaque version of concealer, and the other end a lighter, sheerer version with just enough "highlight" to create the halo glow we all need.

The other product I fell in love with was Laura Mercier's Secret Brightening Powder! I can tell you I won't be without this product and will take anyone down I see sneaking it out of my stash ;) It's brilliant and goes on like velvet. I used it on very young skin and not so young at all skin and it blended beautifully.

Every girl wants to feel like a princess!

The North Charleston campus of Seacoast Church hosted it's 2nd annual Cinderella Day on Saturday! Denise Church and her team of volunteers transformed the Dream Center into an magical place! A number of underprivileged girls lined up to pick out a gown for their prom, ball, or formal affair. After they picked their gowns the girls were sent to pick out shoes and accessories.... then onto hair, makeup and nails. We were truely honored to be a part of this wonderful project. Seeing the smiles on the girls faces and giving back makes what we do worth every moment!

It is a beautifully done coffee table book. A very informative, hands on guide perfect for just about any budget! As you know, we collect books on make up, hair, style, etc. Call it research, learning, inspiration, motivation...we love a beautiful coffee table book-better yet, an informative beautiful coffee table book. Like we say, "You are only as pretty as your content..."

We love this new book by Bobbi Brown!

It hits the nail on the head- from making the right choices in product to perfecting your make up application. There is even a great resource guide in the back if you are even thinking of going into the Industry. We got ours off of Amazon to save a few bucks, but you can also find this at your local Barnes & Nobles or directly off her site...

Don't let your hands tell on you!

Please don't let you hands tell on you! Often, we neglect the one body part that shows signs of aging first.Our hands, nails and cuticles fall victim to winter's dry air very quickly. Clarins hand and nail treatment cream is a double duty product that specifically targets aging hands. Not only does it moisturize hands, cuticles and nails, it helps to fade nasty age spots. If you can't remember to put it on after you wash your hands, at least treat yourself before bed and keep a tube on your night stand. At this time of year, that beautiful beach glow that we all love tends to fade. I found myself needing a little of that glow back for one of the Holiday parties I was attending, especially for my Lily white legs. Lancome came to the rescue with it's Flash Bronzer for legs. I was ready for my event in a couple of days. It's great to mix with your favorite moisturizer to get a very suttle look. Make sure to exfoliate very well before use and add a little extra moisturzer on your knees and around your ankles to assure an even look.

As I watch it rain and think of changing up my fall/winter skin care routine...I can't give up my new love. For you oily girls and boys out there, Boscia makes a fantastic oil-free moisturizer with an SPF 15. Extremely light weight and travel friendly. Our New Love!

Yeah, whahoo, yippee...

Okay, so after getting my new brushes in last week I thought things couldn't get any better. Well 3 days later, I was tracking the location of my newly purchased kit and I'm not kidding-as soon as I plugged in my UPS code, the truck pulled up! I ran out to meet him (oddly enough he didn't react strangely to that!) and continued to bounce with joy back to my front door-CASE in hand!

I am so thrilled with my new digs...as I was showing Marg this weekend, we just kinda sat there and stared at it like it was the Mona Lisa or something. That's how it felt!

It looks awesome, but most importantly- it is the most functional kit either of us has ever seen!

Margaret and I signed off on the proof last week and they were ready- hot off the press on Monday. They look great and will be put to some excellant use. We write and talk about beauty all the time...things that help us look beautiful, things that help us stay beautiful, you get the notion that everything beautiful is something that can be seen on the outside. So this week, I want you all to try something...instead of looking for the latest lipstick, I want you to do something that will make you feel good (not just look good) on the inside! Connect with an old friend, buy a stranger a cup of coffee, give someone a compliment, or even do something for yourself! Buy that book you have been waiting to order, or figure out how to download tunes onto your new ipod, maybe something as simple as burning that "special" candle you are saving for company. Like my Grandmother used to say, "For heavens sake use the good china!". Just do something, you deserve to enjoy the people and things around you. Make time and take the effort to slow down a bit, take the attitude of gratitude towards the things around you. I promise that not only will you feel happier and more relaxed-the effects will work better than any face cream or lipstick will ever do!

With many projects in the works, Margaret and I have plenty to be excited about! One thing we are loving, is our research for all Natural and Organic make up...looking beyond the trend, we thought it was time to offer a more eco-friendly alternative for girls who wanted to look not only gorgeous-but go GREEN! We like to call it environmentally chic! First let's give you a little 101, there is a difference between natural, organic, and mineral...

Natural: Not FDA regulated-Natural brands are formulated with high concentrations of plant-based and naturally derived ingrediants. Fewer to NO parabens, petrochemicals,a nd synthetic fragrences and dyes are used.

Organic: Refers to products containing ingrediants grown and processed without the use of pesticides,herbicides, and insecticided. In the US, "organic" falls under the USDA's standards. Must contain 100% organic to carry the organic seal, 70% to claim "organic" on it's label.

Mineral: Derived from natural mineral sources-usually free of preservatives,talc, oil, fragrence, dyes, and other chemicals that can irritate skin.
